Summary:
We met that winter when she descended from the mountainside, a beautiful figure covered in soft brown fur that stood out against the blanket of white. Her hair was dark and thick, braided long with a set of horns between tall ears that were raised high. And her hazel eyes shone like amber as they caught the light reflected off the snow.
She was a half-breed unlike any other I’d seen, a wandering huntress in need of shelter as the forming blizzard threatened to bury everything. I offered to host her in my cabin until the storm passed and she could travel on her own once more. But a life spent wandering was often a lonely one, and sharing a bed was a wonderful way to keep warm on those long, winter nights…
